Abby Chin represents individuals, families, and businesses in complex civil litigation. Her practice focuses on wrongful death, life-altering injuries, sexual abuse, civil rights violations, and malpractice. Abby has helped secure multiple multi-million dollar results for clients through trial and settlement, including one of the largest jury verdicts in Ohio in 2025. She is known for her meticulous preparation, persuasive courtroom presence, and dedication to holding powerful institutions accountable.

Abby Chin represents plaintiffs in high-stakes civil litigation involving wrongful death, catastrophic injury, police misconduct, and institutional abuse. Known for her precision and composure in high-pressure settings, Abby approaches each case with the discipline of an athlete and a deep commitment to justice. She has helped clients recover multiple multi-million dollar outcomes.
A lifelong competitor, Abby was a Division I swim team captain, a three-time U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier, and an Ironman finisher. These experiences shaped her endurance, focus, and ability to work as part of a high-performing team—qualities that continue to guide her in the courtroom.
Before joining Cooper Elliott, Abby clerked for federal judges in Ohio and Florida and practiced litigation at a national firm. Her background equips her with strong procedural knowledge and a clear understanding of how to build persuasive cases.
Born and raised in Columbus, Abby remains active in her community. She has coached age-group swimmers since 2011, mentored law students through DEI initiatives and moot court competitions, and continues to find fulfillment in teaching and public service. She lives in Grandview with her husband and their dog, Rocket.
